AP reports this morning that the Australian courts have ruled against Kazaa and Sharman Networks, ordering them to modify their systems to prevent piracy within 2 months. The defendents will also have to pay 90% of the record industry’s court costs in this case but additional damages won’t be decided until a later date.
While this ruling can only be enforced in Australia, it is another blow against Kazaa who lost against Hollywood this past June. The decision is another major victory for the record and film industries.
