Interoperability Required By Law?

According to this article a recent congressional hearing tackled the interoperability issue. Representatives from industy and consumer groups were quick to voice opposition to government involvement in this issue, claiming that government should stay out of the format war and let competition in the marketplace be governed by existing antitrust and intellectual property laws. Apple was invited to testify but did not attend the hearing. Read the full article here

Let’s hope the industry moves quickly…the big players in the digital music space need to get their act together and allow music purchased from any service to work with any hardware…sort of like how it works now with CDs and DVDs.
