A little shameless self-promotion today….I’m pleased to share the news that a campaign we designed just won the award "Best Use of Technology for a Music Marketing Campaign" at the Billboard 2004 Digital Entertainment Conference.  The campaign to promote the Ben Harper single "Diamonds on the Inside" involved working with Maven Networks to design a "jukebox" containing a high quality video of the song.  The jukebox contained an area to enter email addresses of your friends to share the jukebox (with the appropriate spam catchers/flood controls on the back end to prevent any one person from being invited to check out the jukebox more than once).  For every 5 friends you sent the jukebox invitation to, you received an unreleased, live Ben Harper song (personally selected by Ben from his Summer 2003 European Tour).  The jukebox looked like this.  Maven specializes in video technology–in my opinion, they offer the highest quality video on the net, and their team of developers were great in developing the viral functionality which was not a part of their core tech…they built it to spec in a matter of days.  My thanks to Ben Harper, the team at Maven and to my excellent staff at Virgin for making it happen!
